Learning outcomes

Meet the mandatory minimum requirements for basic training of seafarers in accordance with STCW ’95 Codesection A-II/1 (and lateramendments) relative to the training on the basis of safety, personal survivaltechniques, the MinisterialDecreedated 07/08/2001 of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and subsequent notes and with Legislative Decree, n. 136 of July 7th, 2011 Implementation of 2008/106/EC Regulation on the minimum level of training for seafarers.


Acquisition of theoretical knowledge / practices regarding the use of ARPA and navigation instruments, to the performance of the radar plot, the use of data from ARPA and Navigation for safe navigation and collision avoidance.

Final Exam:

At the end of the course students must take a theoretical and practical examination before a committee chaired by a representative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

Target Group for the Course

Maritime inscriptionat the offices of the Italianterritory SEAFARERS valid and seamen from foreignstates.

Seafarers shall receive training, education or training base in the field of safety in accordance with the provisions of section A-VI / 1 of the STCW Code (Regulation VI / I of the Legislative Decree 07/07/2011) .

The course is mandatory for seafarers aspiring to the achievement of the certificate of navigation officer pursuant to art. 1 of the Ministerial Decree of 5 October 2000 as amended by Ministerial Decree of 22 December 2000.

Are admitted to the seafarers who attended, with a favor able outcome, the course of training in the use of radar observer normal.
