Course duration and timing
5 days – 38 hours divided of at least 28 hours spent in practical exercises - Navi Sailor 4000 – Transas Mediterranean SAS
Meeting the minimum mandatory requirements for seafarers’ basic training in accordance with section A-II / 2 of the STCW ’95 Code (as amended) related to the training of safety on the basis of personal survival techniques, the Ministerial Decree of August 7th, 2001 of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation and subsequent notes and the Decree of July 7th, 2011, n. 136 implementing the Directive 2008/106/EC on the minimum training level for seafarers.
Target Group for the Course
Seamen registered at the SEAFARERS’ OFFICES within the Italian Territory and seamen from foreign countries.
Seafarers shall receive complete training, education or basic training in the field of safety in accordance with the provisions of section A-VI / 1 of the STCW Code (Regulation VI / I of the Legislative Decree 07/07/2011) .
The course is mandatory for seafarers aspiring to the achievement of certificates of competency of the captain, second class captain, master and second class commander, in accordance with the Articles 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the Ministerial Decree on 5th October 2000 amended by Ministerial Decree on 22nd December 2000.

In order to be admitted to the course, all candidates must be holder of the certificate of Navigating Officer as per Art. 1 of the Ministerial Decree on the 5th October 2000, and subsequent amendments.
